Fishing Tournaments

In West NB, the legendary Saint John River offers some of the best Bass fishing in Atlantic Canada. With rich, diverse waterways and multi-species opportunities, this region draws anglers from near and far chasing everything from feisty Smallmouth Bass to the elusive Musky — and the tournament scene is just as thrilling as the fight on the line.

The season kicks off with Hook & Paddle on May 2, 2026 — In 2026, the spotlight turns to bass — setting the stage for fast limits and serious competition. Step into the world of kayak angling and experience the excitement of the popular catch-photo-release format. This three-stop bass trail features some of the province’s most distinctive and sought-after fishing destinations. Anglers collect points at each event, working toward the coveted Angler of the Year title or earning their place in the season-ending Classic. It’s skill, strategy, and a whole lot of heart — all played out on the water.

Up next, Bass anglers from across Eastern Canada and the Northeastern United States are invited to compete in the NB Bass Tour for a $10,000 showdown. Mark your calendar for the Woodstock Open, August 1-2, 2026 - one of three premier stops in the tournament series known for delivering some of the largest payouts in the province.

Rounding out the season are the final events in the NBSFA series — two host communities, two exciting tournament dates, all building toward the prestigious NBSFA Classic. On August 15, 2026, anglers head to Perth-Andover to compete on its renowned waters. The series then continues September 5–6 in Woodstock for the Dennis Wilson Memorial, a meaningful and competitive stop on the tour. The NBSFA series is also committed to growing the sport. During the Woodstock weekend, young anglers are invited to take part in a free youth tournament, with awards and prizes presented for the longest bass and longest perch in each age category. It’s a welcoming way for kids to get involved and experience the thrill of tournament fishing. For those looking to ease into competition, the 115hp event offers a relaxed, supportive atmosphere with less pressure — an ideal first step for anglers ready to test the tournament waters.

Whether you're fishing for the trophy, the cash, or the thrill of the challenge, West NB is where records are broken, legends are made, and every cast counts.
