Fishing Tournaments

In West NB, the legendary Saint John River offers some of the best Bass fishing in Atlantic Canada. With rich, diverse waterways and multi-species opportunities, this region draws anglers from near and far chasing everything from feisty Smallmouth Bass to the elusive Musky — and the tournament scene is just as thrilling as the fight on the line.

The season kicks off with Hook & Paddle on June 22, 2025 — a multi-species tournament where anglers choose their battleground: the mighty Saint John River or the winding Meduxnekeag. Points are scored based on size and species caught, with a targeted species each year. As scores climb, top anglers compete in chapters across NB for a shot at being crowned Angler of the Year.

Next up, Bass anglers can head to Perth-Andover for the NBSFA  chapter on July 5, 2025. The action wraps up in Woodstock on August 31, 2025, with the Dennis Wilson Memorial Tournament, the second stop in the NBSFA series. With a low entry fee and relaxed format, this tournament gives local anglers the chance to test their skills against some of the province’s best, without having to compete directly against elite NBSFA members. Fish four of the five events, and you'll qualify for the season-ending “Classic”.

The fishing season shifts into high gear with the NB Bass Tour’s $10,000 Showdown, happening August 16–17, 2025, where cash and serious bragging rights are up for grabs. Anglers from all over Eastern Canada and the Northeastern United States are invited to join.

Whether you're fishing for the trophy, the cash, or the thrill of the challenge, Wes NB is where records are broken, legends are made, and every cast counts.
