A Season To Explore

6 Ways to Find Your Summer Moment

1

A Season of Celebration

Festivals & Signature Events

There's no better time to visit than when the region comes alive with festivals and signature events. Summer unfolds through a lineup of experiences worth planning around, each adding its own energy to the season. From July 16-18, the Dooryard Arts Festival brings together talent from across the arts and entertainment world, with comedian James Mullinger headlining Friday night. On August 3rd, celebrate at the annual New Brunswick Day Covered Bridge Market, where the iconic bridge transforms into a one-of-a-kind shopping experience with vendors spanning its impressive 1,282-foot length. From August 5-9, the Larlee Creek Hullabaloo takes over with one of the summer's most anticipated festivals, known for its high-energy atmosphere set against the river. This year's lineup includes headliner Matt Mays, adding to an unforgettable few days of music and celebration.

The Roar of Summer

Motorsports & Rural Racing Traditions

Follow your favorite high-horsepower events and experience a summer built on noise, energy, and hometown cheers. Each stop brings its own kind of thrill, starting with the Maritime Mower Showdown on June 12-13, where modified lawn tractors charge around the dirt track. Next up, head over to Connell Park Raceway for the Monster Madness Tour on June 20th, where supersized Monster Trucks take the stage for a high-powered showdown. Cetreville Truck & Tractor Pull is your next stop for a full weekend of action on June 26th-27th. Expect a major showcase of stock and heavily modified machines competing across classes and drawing competitors from across North America. The Woodstock Truck and Tractor Pull on July 10th-11th offers another chance to catch the action, though no two events are ever the same. Once these machines hit the track, unpredictability is part of the excitement. Finally, the season wraps up with the tradition of the Richard Sharpe Memorial Demo Derby that takes place on August 8th, where the last driver standing takes the win and brings summer to a roaring finish.

Fresh From the Fields

U-Picks, Farm Stands & Local Flavours

From roadside farm stands to lively markets and U-pick experiences, our agricultural roots are on full display throughout the summer. Whether you're filling a market basket, picking berries, or discovering a roadside stand, it's one of the most delicious ways to explore West NB.

June marks the return of the Hartland Farmers' Market, where local vendors fill their tables with jams, jellies, baked goods, and the region's beloved Lady Ashburnham pickles. By July, fields and farm stands are overflowing with fresh produce. Hunter Brothers Market offers everything from new potatoes and strawberries to tomatoes, beans, and carrots, while River Valley Berries welcomes visitors for blueberry and raspberry UPICK hours during peak season. The Woodstock Summer Night Market also comes alive along the waterfront, combining local vendors, live entertainment, and a vibrant community atmosphere. Come August, sweet corn takes centre stage at Blackie's Vegetables, where fresh-picked local flavour is never far from reach.

A Season of Stories

Museums, Heritage Sites & Guided Tours

Summer is the perfect time to explore some of the region's most unique attractions. Open for the season, Potato World offers affordable family fun with interactive exhibits, play areas, and activities like launching a potato cannon. Be sure to stop by the restaurant, where creative potato-inspired dishes take centre stage—including the popular French Fry Charcuterie Board featuring gourmet dipping sauces, along with sweet treats like iced fries and chocolate potato cake. Beginning June 21, the New Denmark Memorial Museum welcomes visitors for another season of discovering the area's rich Danish heritage. Open daily throughout the summer, the museum offers an engaging look at local history, along with affordable admission and souvenirs to remember your visit. Looking to experience art, culture, and history in one stop? Throughout July and August, Beyond the Bend Tours brings the region's stories to life through guided excursions featuring murals, historic buildings, and fascinating local tales. It's an easy and enjoyable way to gain a deeper appreciation for the communities and history that shape New Brunswick's First Town.

Summer After Hours

Patios, Seasonal Drinks & Summer Evenings

Long days, warm nights, and seasonal sips—summer on the patio just hits different. Discover limited-time flavours and inviting spaces while you're here.

At The Canopy, the Rhubarb Whiskey Sour pairs perfectly with a beautifully available patio overlooking downtown Florenceville, the historic Florenceville bridge, and the boardwalk. The intimate setting and scenic views make it a perfect choice for couples looking for a memorable date night. Over at Exit 153,  Margarita Mondays set the tone for the week with $8 margaritas and half-priced appetizers from 4-7pm. The shaded patio offers a quieter escape, making it ideal for book clubs, reunion weekends, and groups of friends looking to reconnect. Private patio experiences are also available for those looking to elevate their visit. Unit XIII brings a whiskey-forward twist to summer with seasonal pours like the Peach Tea Whiskey Sour and Whiskey Lemonade. With lawn games, a lively atmosphere, and multiple patio spaces, it's a great fit for weekend adventurers looking for a fun evening out. Meanwhile, Covered Bridge Restaurant & Bar pairs a rotating daily drink on a patio overlooking the golf course and sweeping river valley views, but the Dave Matthews remains a consistent local favourite. It's a natural stop for golf groups, sightseeing couples, and those looking to unwind after a day outdoors.
