9 Experiences That Bring Summer To Life

1

Experience Festivals & Events

There's no better time to visit than when a festival or anticipated event is underway. The energy is vibrant and full of life, yet never far from the quiet, wide-open spaces that define West NB. With something for every interest, summer unfolds through a series of experiences worth planning around.

In early June, step into a Celtic celebration at the Gathering of the Scots, marking its 25th anniversary beginning June 4, complete with traditional highland games, jousting, and more. The highly anticipated Brews on the Boardwalk returns on June 6, bringing the waterfront to life with locally crafted beer and spirits, live music, games, and great food, set against the picturesque backdrop of the Wolastoq River and the boardwalk streets. From July 16-18, the Dooryard Arts Festival showcases talent from across the entertainment world, with comedian James Mullinger headlining Friday night. Over the New Brunswick Day long weekend, the annual Covered Bridge Market transforms the World's Longest Covered Bridge into a one-of-a-kind shopping experience, with vendors lining the span of the bridge. The season leads to Larlee Creek Hullabaloo, August 5-9, one of the year's most anticipated events, known for its high-energy lineup and unforgettable atmosphere that echoes through the river valley.

Powersports on the Dirt

Follow your favourite high-horsepower events and experience a summer built on noise, energy, and small-town excitement. Each stop brings its own kind of thrill, starting with the Maritime Mower Showdown on June 12-13, where modified lawn tractors charge around the dirt track. Next up is the Centreville Truck & Tractor Pull on June 26-27, a major showcase of stock and heavily modified machines competing across large classes and drawing competitors from across North America. The Woodstock Truck & Tractor Pull on July 10-11 offers another chance to catch the action, though no two events are ever the same - once these machines hit the track, unpredictability is part of the excitement. Finally, the season wraps up with the tradition of the Old Home Week Demolition Derby on August 8, where the last driver standing takes the win and brings summer to a roaring finish.

Across every event, the atmosphere is loud, intense, and unmistakably electric - engines roaring, crowds cheering, and families watching it all unfold in excitement. Food trucks and local vendors add to the experience. Pick out your favourite drivers and machines, and be sure to see them back in action next year!
