Overview
The Fisherman is a colourful kinetic sculpture along the banks of the Wolastoq, celebrating Woodstock’s deep connection to fishing and the river. Created by local artist Kerry O’Toole, the larger-than-life angler casts his line across the water, forever chasing the thrill of the next catch.
But this is more than a sculpture to look at. Powered by the wind, the fisherman's arms rise and fall as though reeling in a fish, while a nearby salmon leaps into the air. The entire sculpture slowly rotates 360 degrees, creating ever-changing views of the river and nearby landscape.
